UMKC Law
The Student Guild Chapter at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law works to educate students about social justice issues and provides law students with opportunities to serve the community in the public interest.
Our accomplishments include a wide array of educational programming on topics as diverse as immigration, labor, and death penalty reform. In addition, we have hosted a prison book drive to help stock jailhouse libraries. In the near future plans have been made to begin community educational events, including a “Know Your Rights” campaign set to kick off in the Spring of 2013. The UMKC Law Chapter also manages the local “Legal Observer” program to provide support to community organizations seeking progressive change throughout the Kansas City area.To learn more about the Legal Observer Program and to make a request for observers, please visit our program information here.
